Rex the super dog is looking for a home!

Rex is a fantastic one year old Border Collie with loads of potential in the right home. Rex is typical of his breed, as he is super clever and loves to learn new things for a few treats too!

Due to his young age and high energy, he will need an active home that will take him on adventures. Rex can be worried by new people, and it will take time for him to trust you but once he does, he will happily come for a fuss and attention!

Rex loves toys, especially tennis balls – he could play with them for hours! He will never fail to keep you busy whilst putting a smile on your face. Rex can be worried and reactive at some dogs, but we have done a lot of work with him at the centre, and he can now walk past most dogs calmly and even say hello, playing off lead with some too!

Rex is a super dog who has become a firm favourite at the centre!

Rex’s Background

Rex was handed over to us in April 2021, mainly due to not getting on with another dog in the home. Generally, in the home, Rex was great and enjoyed running round the garden occupying himself with toys, especially tennis balls. Rex was bought as a puppy from a rural farm, so he’s not used to city life, which became a bit overwhelming for him on walks.

Type of home needed for Rex

He’s now looking for a rural/semi-rural home with minimal traffic, a private garden and adopters who are willing to work on his training and have collie experience. The home should not be open plan and he can’t meet visitors at the door, and they must be minimal visitors to the home. Rex will need to be the only pet in the home, due to his high prey drive and he will need minimal leaving hours initially, with the view to build these up over time.
