Rugby-loving Leo rucking for a new home

As the British and Irish Lions rugby tour kicks off, staff at Dogs Trust Kenilworth are appealing for a home for their very own rugby-loving aptly-named pooch, Leo.

The three-year-old Crossbreed has been in kennels almost two years and has been overlooked by thousands of potential new owners. But the playful pooch can’t resist bounding after a rugby ball and he is pulling out all the stops to try and win himself the perfect match with a loving new owner.

After missing out on the squad selection, he’s now ‘rucking’ for his perfect team mates in the form of a forever family.

Sandra Foulds, Dogs Trust Kenilworth Rehoming Centre Manger says:

“Leo is a fun-loving, playful boy who is trying to score his perfect home. This lively lad is best suited to an active home with a secure garden where he can bound after a rugby ball to his heart’s content before snuggling up on the sofa to cheer on his favourite team.

“Leo mixes well with other dogs but would like to be the only dog in the home so he can always be ‘mutt of the match’. Like any rugby player, Leo would benefit from a little extra training so would love to find devoted new owners who can continue with this and who would be able to visit the centre multiple times to build up a bond with Leo as he would like to get to know his new family before going home.”
