Hypnotic hound hoping to catch the eye of a loving new owner

Dogs Trust Kenilworth is appealing to local dog lovers to help find a loving home for an unusual four-legged, hypnotic – eyed resident. The rehoming centre staff are concerned that Floyd the Husky may end up being overlooked by potential new owners due to his unusual eye catching appearance.

The pretty pooch bears a striking resemblance to Kaa, the hypnotic–eyed snake in the Jungle Book. With the new Jungle book film due for release in under two months his carers are hoping his similarity to the character played by Scarlett Johannsson may help him find the loving home which he deserves.

The three year old Husky has been at the rehoming centre for over a month, and despite seeing plenty of his furry counterparts find loving homes of their own, no one has shown any interest in this quirky canine. Floyd was handed into Dogs Trust Kenilworth, through no fault of his own, when his owner was sadly no longer able to care for him. He is now hoping to hypnotise a loving new owner into giving him a new home.

However, his looks are where the similarities to the creepy character of the film end as this fun boy is only interested in hypnotising his carers into giving him extra treats, and playing chase! Floyd is a loyal boy, much more similar to the Kaa of the Rudyard Kipling’s original books than that of the Disney Films.

Dogs Trust Kenilworth’s Supporter Relations Officer, Helen Barlow, explains:

“Even with his striking good looks and bouncy personality, Floyd is often passed by despite his efforts to catch the eye of potential owners. He needs a patient adult owner who will give him plenty of time to help him settle in to family life. This energetic boy is looking for an active adult home and would prefer to be king of the Jungle as the only pet in the home."
