‘Ear’ie goings-on at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe this Howl-o-ween

Dogs’ enormous ears make him look like a bat!

There are some ‘ear’ie goings on at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe this Howl-o-ween as they play host to one spooky-looking resident whose enormous ears make him look like a Halloween bat.

Three-year-old Crossbreed Andy’s giant ears, have been the talk of the rehoming centre since his arrival earlier this month especially since coming in during the month of Halloween.

Staff at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe have been inundated with questions from visitors keen to solve the mystery of his bat-like appearance but have come to the conclusion that Andy’s spookily large ears are simply an unexplained phenomenon and are hoping that a local dog lover can embrace his quirky looks and offer him a loving new home!

Despite his appearance, Andy couldn’t be further from a bat and is actually an extremely sweet natured, gentle character. He is a friendly chap who gets on well with other dogs. He walks well on his lead and travels well in the car.

Rogan Quinn, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe Rehoming Centre Assistant Manager, says:

“We are amazed by how much Andy’s ears resemble bat wings - they have certainly become the main attraction for canine carers and visitors alike! Andy is a striking boy with an equally striking personality. He is a fun-loving, clever boy who loves being active but equally enjoys relaxing after a long walk.”

“Andy is looking for an active home but one where someone is around for most of the day until time left alone can be built up gradually. He can live in a home with children older than 11 years and with another dog, but he wouldn’t be able to live with cats.

“He is at his happiest when out on his walks so would love a home where he can have lots of exercise.”

If you think you can offer Andy a loving new home, please call Dogs Trust Ilfracombe on 0300 303 0292.
