Love big dogs?
Gentle giant Lexi the Crossbreed could be your pawfect match.
Beautiful five-year-old crossbreed, Lexi, is a big girl currently weighing 39.9kg (target weight of 32kg, so a bit of weight to loose.) This girl is not just big in size, she is big in the way of the love she has for the people she has built up a loving bond with. She has a big heart, gives big snuggles and big slobbery kisses!
Lexi arrived at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe Rehoming Centre back in February this year and now finds herself searching for loving, patient adult adopters. She will need a quiet home environment, with no passers-by and a limited number of visitors. Lexi is wary of new people (men especially) and will need access to walks away from the hustle and bustle. If you love big dogs, live in a quiet area and like peaceful, rural walks than maybe Lexi is the girl for you! Lexi will require several visits to the rehoming centre in order for all members of her new household to bond with her and for her to feel comfortable around them.
Lexi enjoys going for long walks and loves playing with squeaky toys, she likes a game of tug and she likes to carry her toys around with her. When it’s warm outside, Lexi enjoys a swim in the pond. She can make friends with calm, friendly dogs with gradually introductions but she would be best as the only dog in the home. She’s a bit of a bright spark, she knows her basic training and likes to show off her ‘sit’, ‘paw’ and a ‘down’, she is house-trained and is happy with car travel.
Lexi has a big personality, when she knows and trusts people, she’s always excited to see them and she gives her tail and bum a big wag. She’s excitable and fun-loving and is very food motivated which is a great tool for positive reward training.
