Dogs Trust

COVID-19 info: Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public but you can still adopt some of our dogs: take a look at their profiles to see which ones. We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe.

Training tips and tours at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe

Traning Barn

Last year, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe helped to successfully rehome around 350 dogs to families across the South West.

All these families would have walked through our main rehoming corridor, where most of our dogs stay in the hope of catching the eye of a soon-to-be owner.

However, there are some other areas of the centre that are not usually open to the public, where a lot of the hard work goes on. So, to thank our rehomers, we’ve recently held two special afternoons, where supporters have been invited to Dogs Trust Ilfracombe for a behind-the-scenes tour of the centre.

As well as a chance to have a look around our facilities, visitors also got to hear from our Training and Behaviour Advisor, who gave a talk on the training techniques used at the centre (ably assisted by a couple of canine residents!).

If you are part of a community group and would also like a tour of the rehoming centre, please contact Supporter Relations Officer, Amy Bingham. Similarly, if your social group or club would like a free talk about the work of Dogs Trust, please get in touch.
