Supporting Remember A Charity Week in Ilfracombe
From planning our weekends and school runs, to larger occasions like holidays, weddings and birthdays – we all know that preparation is key to helping things go smoothly.
However, when it comes to planning for when we’re no longer around, it seems we aren’t always as open or as prepared.
So, this week (9 to 15 September), Dogs Trust Ilfracombe is supporting Remember a Charity Week, which aims to get people talking about planning for the future, whilst highlighting the importance of leaving gifts in Wills to good causes and charities.
To mark the week-long event, we’ve created a drop-in area in our Ilfracombe reception, where you can pop in and meet me, Supporter Relations Officer, Amy Bingham. As well as being available on Monday, I will also be on hand on Tuesday and Friday afternoon, to answer any questions you may have about leaving a gift in your Will. You can also visit us to find out and sign up to our free Canine Care Card Scheme, which gives dog owners peace of mind, knowing that their dog’s future is safe, should they die before their canine companion.
Plus, aside from offering advice and information, we’re also inviting you to come in and do a spot of rock painting - either in memory of a loved one, or just as a bit of ‘time-out’, away from the hustle and bustle. After all, dogs rock! It’s also a simple way to symbolise a love that lasts forever.
So, if you have got some spare time this week, have a question about legacies or our Canine Care Card, or indeed you just want to come and say hello, please feel free to pop in. You never know - you may also meet your future four-legged family member here at the rehoming centre!
You can find me at the Ilfracombe Rehoming Centre this week on Tuesday and Friday, 1pm to 4pm. Meanwhile, our general opening hours are every day, 12pm to 4pm, except for Wednesdays when we are open 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
