Behind the scenes at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe

Canine Care Card Scheme and legacy leaflets

Last week, Dogs Trust Ilfracombe welcomed a group of funeral directors to the rehoming centre.

The evening was an opportunity for funeral directors to find out about how their dog-owning clients can be given peace of mind through our Canine Care Card Scheme. This is a free service, whereby, in the event of an owner’s death (where there are no friends or family to look after their dog), we will be there to care for them, until we are able to find them a loving new home.

The evening was also an opportunity for funeral directors to have a look around our facilities at Dogs Trust Ilfracombe – including our main rehoming area and our new Training Barn. As well as getting to meet some of our current canine residents, this meant our visitors could see for themselves how kind donations are put to good use, such as those that are given in memory of a loved one.

Thank you to everyone who came along. We hope the visit gave you an insight into the varied work of Dogs Trust.

Meanwhile, if you are part of an adult community group and would like to have a look behind the scenes of Dogs Trust Ilfracombe, please get in contact. You can email Supporter Relations Officer Amy Bingham at [email protected] or phone 01271 817716.
