Rescue dog vampire bat lookalike 'homes' in on new family
Dogs Trust in Scotland finds home for quirky canine
One of Scotland’s quirkiest looking dogs has found a new home just in time for Halloween, after spending a total of six months in the care of Dogs Trust Glasgow. The ten-year-old Terrier cross named Marley has been likened to a vampire bat due to his dark eyes, brindle colours and similar teeth.
Marley may look like a vampire bat but other than his love of ‘hanging around’ with his special canine friend Murphy, that’s where the similarities ends. Marley is a typical Terrier who warms to people quickly once he gets to know them and much prefers the quiet life.
Marley arrived at Dogs Trust with his fellow canine companion Murphy, who is also a Terrier cross, aged 15; both looking for a new home together. The pair are devoted to each other and staff are thrilled they will spend their retirement years together cosied up in a relaxing home.
Claire Cairney, Assistant Manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow, said:
“We are amazed by how much Marley’s teeth resemble a vampire bat’s fangs - they have certainly become a topic of conversation with staff and visitors!”
“Marley are Murphy are a gorgeous pair with amazing characters and we couldn’t be happier they have found their forever home. Marley has such unique features that staff were worried he may become overlooked but thankfully that hasn’t been the case. What makes it spooky is he has found a home so close to Halloween.”
