Overlooked pooch hoping to find puppy love this Valentine's Day
This Valentine’s Day, Dogs Trust Darlington is hoping that love will be in the air for Charlie, a five-year-old Labrador cross who is awaiting a loving home after spending almost a year in kennels.
Having originally arrived at Dogs Trust Darlington as a young puppy, Charlie found himself back at the rehoming centre last year when his owner became unwell. Whilst he has made so many friends during his time there, including best canine chum Bambi, Charlie has so far been unlucky-in-love when it comes to finding that special human someone. Bambi has been a much-needed source of love and comfort for Charlie, and now that she has found a new home, staff hope it won’t be too long before Charlie follows in her pawsteps.
Along with winning Bambi’s heart, Charlie has become a firm favourite with staff at the Dogs Trust rehoming centre and they cannot understand why visitors aren’t queuing up to offer him the home he desperately wants. They now hope he will be struck by cupid’s bow wow and will finally get the loving home he deserves in time for Valentine’s Day.
Dogs Trust Supporter Relations Officer, Rebecca McKeown, comments:
“Charlie is a beautiful boy with so much love to give - he has certainly won the hearts of the staff here and we hope he’ll soon get a second chance at happiness in a new home. We are all so fond of him and really want to see him find love this Valentine’s Day. Whilst he’s seen his buddy Bambi find her perfect match, he is longing for that special someone to call his own.”
“This adorable boy is looking for a new home with patient owners who will give him plenty of time to settle in. Potential owners will need to visit a few times to build up a bond but once he gets to know you, he will be a lifelong friend.”
