Dogs looking for another chance at love this Valentine's Day

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, Dogs Trust Darlington are looking for willing potential owners to come forward and give their canine residents a second chance at love. The Sadberge Rehoming Centre currently has a number of residents who have been in their care of Dogs Trust for at least four months, willing to pull out all the stops to find their special someone.

The first on their list is the lovely Bruno, a seven-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who has been at the Rehoming Centre for over a year now. He almost found a new home last Valentine’s Day, however through no fault of his own, this sadly wasn’t meant to be. Since then he has had a few sleepovers with his favourite canine carers, who have said he a joy to look after. He is very particular about who his other canine friends are so would prefer to live in a quiet area with very few other dogs around.

Charlie, Two years old, Shih Tzu Charlie has a lot of character wrapped up in a small package. He likes to play it cool initially but warms to people quickly if they are willing to put in the effort. He would love to find an adult only home, with no other pets and caring owners who will give him time to settle.

Roxy, one year old, Lurcher A bouncy, affectionate and playful girl; Roxy has it all. She is in need of an owner who will continue her training she can become a well-rounded adult. She gets on with children over the age of 11 and will happily play with them all day out in the garden.

George, six years old, Jack Russell Terrier Everyone loves a gentleman with good manners; and George definitely fits the bill. He is sweet, very affectionate and knows all his basic training; and can even sit and give you a paw. He can be quite shy when introduce to new people and situations so he needs someone who will take their time with him. He would be best suited to an adult only home, where someone will be around most of the day to keep him company and help settle him in.

Kai, six years old, Jack Russell Terrier Kai is another dog with an abundance of personality, who likes to take his time getting to know new people. Although Kia would like to be the only dog in the home, he does get on well with dogs while out walking, so the occasional buddy would be ideal. Kia prefers the quieter life and if you give him a calm household with few visitors and a cozy bed, he will be your best friend.

Indie, three years old, Lurcher Indie is a sensitive soul who gives the best cuddles. He could do with a confidence booster so would love to find a family that will help build this in the home. He would prefer to be the only pet in the home, however would benefit from the company of other dogs while out for walks.

Jack, two years old, Lurcher This special boy very much loves being around humans and will show off at any opportunity to get the attention he deserves. He is a very clever boy and knows lots of tricks, however also enjoys playtime with his favourite toys. He would love to spend his life with an active family, who will keep him physically and mentally stimulated.
