When Louis Met Santa Paws
Last weekend was a very busy one at Dogs Trust Darlington as we had our annual Christmas Fair which signals the start of the festive season. There are always lots of stalls and activities but the highlight of the weekend for dogs, visitors and staff is the visit to Santa Paws in his grotto.
Louis a 10 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier is currently in the centre due to the very sad circumstances of both his owner and also his canine companion having passed away within 2 weeks of each other.
This lovely boy was first in line to meet Santa Paws and loved having a cuddle from the big man himself. After giving Louis a fuss and a gift Santa Paws declared Louis to definitely be on his good list. Louis asked Santa Paws to help find him a forever home with a comfy bed and a special someone to provide cuddles on demand.
The queue for Santa Paws was at times a very excitable one and many former residents were spotted in the line. Bess who was adopted as a puppy manty years ago was waiting her turn patiently; her family who visit the centre every Christmas said “For us Christmas only starts once we have seen Santa Paws”.
Louis who is a bit overweight needs to embrace a healthier lifestyle, needs someone to build up his exercise gently and help with his diet. He will thrive in a home where he gets bags of cuddles and attention. This social boy just wants a hug! He will possibly be better as an only dog in a home, but may have walking buddies. He could live with children of 10 years of age, and he needs a home where people are around for him.
If you think you could make Louis wish come true for a loving retirement home that he so deserves please visit his profile. For more information on rehoming Louis please contact the centre on 01324 333114.
