Thomas and Murphy Make a Winning Team
Dogs Trust Darlington love to receive updates of how our former residents are getting on. Recently we got a lovely email from Jo and Thomas who had adopted Murphy five years ago.
Here is their story –
“We picked Murphy up from Dogs Trust Darlington 5 years ago as a four month old puppy. He was brought over from Ballymena with his sister Molly. My son, Thomas has spent hours and hours training and working with Murphy and they are very much the best of friends. Murphy was born with severe hip dysplasia in both his back legs but unless you had seen the X-ray you would never know. He runs plays and acts just like a normal dog. This summer Thomas entered Murphy in two quite big dog shows in Northumberland. One was the Northumberland West RSPCA dog show where he was extremely successful in winning the rescue dog of the year, the best young handler, and the reserve best in show. The other show was the Bellingham show which is very focused on gun dogs and working pedigrees, here Thomas and Murphy won first place in the dog and young handler category again. Thomas really tried to fly the flag this summer for Dogs Trust and tell as many people as possible about how great the organisation is. We are very grateful for the gift of Murphy and it shows that even with a hip problem you can still achieve great things. Thank you again, Jo”
We are sure that you will agree that this is one fabulous “Happy Ever After” story and we are so happy to be able to share it with our blog readers. What a dedicated young person Thomas is and what a great life Murphy has in his Forever Home. We send a huge thank you to Jo & Thomas for sending their story and photographs.
