Our Education Officer's job is to visit Primary Schools teaching children how to become Responsible Dog Owners of the future and also how to keep Safe Around Dogs. This is achieved through fun interactive and FREE classroom workshops and assemblies.  Darlington is the home of the North of England Campaign Team. The Campaigns Team work in partnership with Local Authorities and their Pounds across the North of England to reduce the number of stray dogs and reduce the number of dogs unnecessarily destroyed. The team includes Denise Kelly; Campaigns Manager, Michelle Moat; Campaigns Co-ordinator and Campaigns Assistant Lindsey Youdale.  Jessica Gibson is Darlington's Volunteer Coordinator you can email her here or phone 01325 333 114 for any enquiries relating to volunteering at the centre to dog walk, kennel clean and any other activities you may be able to assist with.

At the moment we are unable to recruit any further volunteers due to a high number of applications recently reviewed, however please contact Jessica to find out when recruitment will begin again.

If you are an academic student, over 18 years old and looking for a work placement please speak to Jessica about the application process.

Jessica also arranges group volunteer days at the rehoming centre on Tuesdays for local companies and organisations, please contact Jessica for further information.
