Girl holding puppy

Our first group of this year’s rescue pups are now almost ready to find forever homes as Dogs Trust looks ahead for another amazing year of rehoming!

One of our rescued pooches who was found straying and heavily pregnant has been recuperating at Dogs Trust Darlington, and her 11 puppies that are all named after herbs & spices, are now almost old enough to find their forever homes!

Last year Dogs Trust Darlington successfully rehomed 626 dogs, despite the rehoming centre currently undergoing a redevelopment, which is due for completion in July this year.

Sue Embleton, Rehoming Centre Manager at Darlington said:

“We are very fortunate to have so many dedicated supporters that have helped make the Darlington centre’s refurbishment happen, including players of People’s Postcode Lottery, whose funding has formed a significant contribution.

On its completion, it will include a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool where dogs can be aided in recovery if they have undergone surgery or have long-term mobility problems”

Six years ago, People’s Postcode Lottery set out to support Dogs Trust in their vision to improve the dog welfare landscape in the UK and have a lasting impact for millions of dogs, including the thousands of dogs the charity cares for each year through its network of rehoming centres across the UK.

It’s thanks to the incredible support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, that we can find so many of our pawfect pooches their forever homes.
