Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

Fabulous Donation from Macy’s Legacy

Here at Dogs Trust Darlington we continue to be blown away by the kindness and generosity shown to our centre in the form of fabulous donations.

Despite the hardships that the current situation is placing on many people our supporters and fellow dog lovers have continued to make the lives of the dogs in our care that little bit extra special with their gifts. We send each and everyone one of you who has supported our centre a mega huge “Thank You”.

Most recently we received this superb donation of extra comfy dog beds, super-soft fleecy blankets, and cute dog bowls from Macy’s Legacy.

Macy was a very cute little Cairn Terrier who was dearly loved by her family and everyone who knew her. Whilst out on a walk with her family in June this year Macy was attacked by two unaccompanied large dogs and received devastating injuries. Despite receiving the best possible veterinary care, she sadly died six days later and passed over the rainbow bridge. Macy’s family who were understandably devastated by her loss have set up a campaign in her memory to make dog owners more aware of their responsibilities and more accountable for their actions. They are also supporting animal charities in her memory with some amazing gifts.

In a letter to Dogs Trust Darlington her family say:

“Macy was a dearly loved family member and a wonderful companion. Macy will never be forgotten and her family hope to continue supporting charities in her name.”

Henri, Lhasa Apso was the first to bag himself a fab new bed, blanket, and new bowl and you can see from how comfy he looks that he really appreciated the gifts. We would like to send a huge thank you to Macy’s Legacy for thinking of our dogs at what must be an extremely sad time.

Our thoughts are with her family and everyone who knew Macy.
