Furrytale Ending for Mackie & Jack
Everyone loves a "happy ever after" story and Dogs Trust Darlington have an amazing one to share with you all.
Just over two weeks ago two of our longer-term dogs Mackie and Jack left for their forever homes and have settled into their new lives well.
Mackie a 4-year-old terrier waited patiently at the centre for 370 days before leaving to start his new life. During a visit to the centre his new family spotted him as they looked around the kennels and instantly knew that Mackie was the one for them.
Jack a 3-year-old lurcher was in the care of Dogs Trust for 570 days before being reserved. His special someone had originally visited the centre to ask about another dog but a member of the training team suggested Jack as a more suitable match. It’s fair to say that it was love at first sight.
Both boys had special requirements for their home environment and needed to be given time to get to know potential adopters at their own pace. Both sets of adoptees visited the centre on multiple occasions to ensure that Mackie and Jack would be familiar with their new families. Following the multiple meets both boys visited their new homes with members of staff prior to adoption day again to aid the transition into their new homes and help them to settle in quickly.
We have received some lovely updates from both families and are so pleased to be able to share them with you. We wish Mackie, jack and both their families lots of fun, happy times and adventures together.
If you are considering adopting a rescue, then why not call into the Darlington Rehoming Centre and have a look around.
We are open 12-4pm everyday except Wednesdays when we are closed. Your perfect match may be sitting waiting patiently for you to come along and make their dream of a forever home come true.
