Flora she's a jolly good fellow!

Dogs Trust Canterbury plan birthday celebrations for retired Greyhound

Dogs Trust Canterbury is appealing for a home for six-year-old ex-racing Greyhound Flora who will be celebrating her first birthday in kennels this May bank holiday.

Flora, who has been at the rehoming centre since December, will be turning seven on 1st May. Staff hope that seven will prove to be a lucky number for the loveable hound and that her seventh year will be the year that she finally finds her forever home.

To make her special day as fun-filled as possible, staff have baked a dog-friendly cake for her to enjoy and will be making sure the birthday girls gets plenty fuss and cuddles.

Dogs Trust Canterbury Rehoming Centre Manager Adam Levy says,

“This will be Flora’s first birthday with us so we really want to give her an extra special day. She is an absolutely fabulous girl with so much character and is never happier than when she’s zipping about outside or playing with her favourite toys. After a busy day, she loves curling up for a good snooze and will often sleep with all four legs up in the air!”

“Flora loves making new doggy friends and could live with another dog of a similar size who can show her the ropes and help her settle in. She can live with children aged 6 and over and would make a wonderful companion in the right home.”

If you think you can make Flora’s day and offer her a loving home please call 0300 303 0292 or visit the centre at Radfall Road, Chestfield, Nr. Whitstable, Kent, CT5 3ER.
