Will Valentine’s Day finally bring love to Lucky the Lab and Lacey the Lurcher?

Dogs Trust Canterbury is hoping Valentine’s Day will bring with it loving new owners for two dogs at their centre.

Labrador Cross Lucky is hoping for a family at last, after residing at the centre for 271 days (as of 07/02/2020) and leggy Lurcher Lacey is a very sweet dog who will bring on a heart-warming smile to everyone she meets.

Lucky is a playful boy and is happiest in a big field chasing after tennis balls. After a decent game of fetch, he enjoys a cheeky neck scratch. Don’t be put off by his age, he’s young at heart and will give the squirrels a run for their money in the woods. Lucky is also housetrained and is looking for a home with children over the age of 16,  with no other pets and a private garden to play lots of games in.

Lacey (pictured above) is a very pretty, 4-year-old who loves adult company - once she knows you, she will love nothing more than a big fuss and all of your attention. Lacey enjoys exploring on her walks, but only likes walking in quiet areas with minimal distractions. Lacey enjoys treats, chews and her toys and is looking for the quiet life – a family home with children over the age of 16 in a rural area as she is worried by other dogs.

Lacey must be the only dog in the home and cannot live with cats or small animals as she has a high chase drive. She can be left for up to 4 hours a day and will need access to her own private garden.

Dogs Trust Canterbury Manager Harriet Blaskett said:

“These two wonderful dogs deserve loving families. Lucky takes a little bit of time to warm up to you and will let you know when he needs his space, but once you have got to know him, you will see a more affectionate side to this playful boy. Lacey is a very sweet girl who absolutely loves people and would make a loving companion. She is also very happy to chill out and have a nap on a sofa.

“If you have space in your heart to give one of our dogs a loving new home, we’d love to hear from you.”
