Dogs Trust

Will hound dog Elvis have you all shook up?

A hound dog called Elvis at Dogs Trust Canterbury is hoping that the anniversary of his namesake’s number one hit written about him will be the Good Luck Charm he needs to help him find new owners to Love him Tender.

Elvis Presley made history in July 1956, as his single Hound Dog went to number one and stayed there for a record breaking 11 weeks in the US charts. His canine namesake would like July to be just as memorable!

Three-year-old Elvis came to Dogs Trust as a puppy in 2017. He is a loving and affectionate dog who loves nothing more than running around and investigating with his nose to the ground in typical hound dog style! He enjoys a fuss and will lean in for cuddles once he has built up a secure relationship with you.

Elvis is a very active boy who must have a good outlet for all of his energy. At Dogs Trust Canterbury, he likes to run with other dogs in the enclosed field and of course, he loves to play with his Teddy Bear. His new home would ideally be in a rural location with a private and secure garden, ideally with land where Elvis can run off the lead.

Like Elvis Presley, hound dog Elvis is quite the performer. He is really clever and knows every trick going from ‘sit’ to ‘spin’, and he even knows ‘bow’!

Harriet Blaskett, centre manager at Dogs Trust Canterbury said:

“Elvis is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving home where he can just be himself.

“He is looking for an adults-only home that doesn't grow busy with visitors and where there are no visiting children. Elvis’ new owners must have the time to come and meet him a few times at the centre and work closely with our behaviour team to ensure he settles into his new home and is able to carry on with his training. Elvis can potentially live with another dog and be left for a few hours once he is settled in.”
