Over £8,000 raised for hounds at Dogs Trust Canterbury’s annual fun day!
Dogs Trust Canterbury is celebrating another successful Fun Day, following a fantastic turnout at the charity’s annual fundraising event on Sunday 14th June 2019 which raised over £8,000.
After many months of planning and organising, the team were delighted to welcome around 1,500 people to the event, which was held for the first time at the Faversham Showground on Staplestreet Road. This was the charity’s first annual Fun Day since 2017.
There were lots of highlights on the day, including a Fun Dog Show where participants competed to be top dog in a range of classes from Marvelous Miniatures and Golden Oldies, to Best Biscuit Catcher and Waggiest Tail.
Dogs Trust Canterbury Supporter Relations Officer, Lara Murphy, was delighted with the turnout of people and their generosity and said:
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to the local community and our supporters old and new who came along to help us raise such a phenomenal amount of money for the dogs in our care. It was a truly great fun family day out with something for everyone, delicious food, plenty of games and stalls for adults, children and dogs.
“We’d also like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped make the event possible, in particular our amazing volunteers who willingly donated their time and contributed hugely to the success of the day.”
All the funds raised from the Fun Day will go towards helping the rehoming centre to continue providing homeless and abandoned dogs with the best possible care as they await their forever homes.
