Lara Murphy – Canterbury Supporter Relations Officer
Lara Murphy covers Canterbury and the surrounding area
I’ve worked for Dogs Trust since early 2012 and became the Supporter Relations Officer at the Canterbury Rehoming Centre in November 2012. The role is very varied and no two days are the same.
I offer free talks to community groups and also organise tours of the rehoming centre, as well as dealing with all the local enquiries about donations in memory of a loved one. I can also talk to you about the Canine Care Card Scheme and answer any legacy enquiries.
The annual Fun Day is also my responsibility and I help with the social media coverage for the rehoming centre too!
I have two dogs - both are Lurchers and are called Smudge and Maggie. My favourite colour is purple. The thing I like best about my job is meeting different people (and their dogs!) and making people aware of the work Dogs Trust does. It also makes me smile seeing the dogs go to their new homes. As for my hobbies – that would be my dogs! Finally, a little known fact about me is that I like to dance – ballroom and Latin mainly and lately ballet has been added (no mud or dog hair in sight!).
If you would like any information about booking a talk or tour for your community group or are enquiring about the Canine Care Card Scheme or legacies, then please don’t hesitate to call me on 07833 050870 or email me at [email protected]
