Dogs Trust brings retro retail therapy to Monmouth
Dogs Trust officially opened the doors of their latest charity shop in Monmouth last week (Friday 4th May) with the help of the local Mayor, councillor Felicity Cotton.
The Dogs Trust charity shop on Agincourt Square offers a wide range of second hand goods from clothing to household items to books and DVDs. Savvy shoppers and their canine companions will be able to browse the store together and all money raised will go towards Dogs Trust.
The Monmouth shop manager, Jill Trotman, said:
“We are delighted to have officially opened the shop here in Monmouth. It’s a fantastic place with a strong community spirit. We have already received so many generous donations but would be so grateful for any extra items that can be spared. We’ll be stocking everything and anything – from books and clothes to ornaments and household items so come on down and bag yourself a bargain.”
VIP (Very Important Pooch), Walter a six-month-old Crossbreed and previous Dogs Trust resident joined Town Mayor, Felicity Cotton, in meeting both the two-legged and four-legged guests at the opening.
Ms Cotton said:
“I was thrilled to be at the opening of Dogs Trust’s new Monmouth charity shop. The store is fantastic and all the money goes to a very worthy cause. I hope the local community come along and pick up a bargain, there’s so much on offer! It was a pleasure to meet the team, perhaps shoppers will also be tempted to pop along to the Bridgend rehoming centre and adopt a four-legged friend.”
The new Monmouth Dogs Trust charity shop is located at 1 Agincourt Square, Monmouth NP25 3BT. The store will be open 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays. The shop is looking for donations of all shapes and sizes, particularly clothing and accessories. All funds raised through the shop will go towards funding Dogs Trust’s work across the country.
