Let’s get ready to rehome! Doggie Ant and Dec looking for retirement home

Dogs Trust Bridgend is appealing for a new home for their newest pooch partnership, Ant and Dec.

Named after the popular television duo, the devoted pair are a little older than their human namesakes – at 12 years old they are the human equivalent of 84.

They arrived at Dogs Trust Bridgend through no fault of their own but after always living with each other, the team are determined to find the inseparable twosome a home together in their twilight years.

Ant is a West Highland Terrier and Dec is a Shih Tzu. They are both sweet older gentlemen who are missing their home comforts and would love to find a loving new family soon who can offer them a comfy sofa to rest their paws.

Becky Burnett, Rehoming Centre Assistant Manager at Dogs Trust Bridgend says:

“Ant and Dec are definitely our likely lads! They are a great double act and have lived together in the same home all their lives, so they have had to adapt to a whole new way of life, but they are coping very well.

“They are definitely happiest when they are together, so we really hope that anyone wanting to welcome two bundles of entertaining doggie love into their lives, realises Ant and Dec could take centre stage in their life.”

These older age pooches are looking for a quiet, calm home with an owner who is around most of the day, as they love human company. They can live with teenagers but need a home without any other pets.

As they are older gents, Ant and Dec don't require that much exercise and would be happy with just a short walk a day and a good-sized garden to potter around in. As they’re getting on in years, they do have some medical issues which require regular blood tests so a new family would need to be prepared to attend regular vet appointments.
