One year later…

Time flies when you’re having fun, and that’s certainly the case for ex-resident Seren. The 6-year-old Lurcher cross who was abandoned at the centre when she was a puppy, was desperately looking for her forever home after been returned to the centre numerous times through no fault of her own. Then one day last November she found her perfect match when local resident Terry visited the centre in search of a companion. After having a look around the kennels, the staff at the centre were eager for Terry to meet Seren as they looked like they were going to be a good match, so with great anticipation, the two of them met and instantly clicked and that was the start of an amazing friendship. After a few visits to her new home, Seren finally got adopted and settled into her new life just in time for Christmas.

In the meantime, with just a motorbike licence, Terry set out to start driving lessons so he could pass his test and get a car, specifically so he could take Seren out and about to different locations, and after a few months, Seren’s dad passed his test and excitedly they began their adventures.

Seren still visits the centre a few times a month, so that she can enjoy a safe run off-lead in our enclosed field and play ball, and the staff usually sneak in so that they can have a quick cuddle with her. It is so heart-warming to see Seren so happy!!

We can’t thank Terry enough for giving Seren such a stable and loving home after she patiently waited for so long.

If you could offer one of our dogs a forever home, then please pop down to the centre in Bridgend, CF31 4NG. You can also visit our website at www.dogstrust.org.uk.
