Samuel Reid – Ballymena Supporter Relations Officer
I’ve worked for Dogs Trust since 1997 and became the first Supporter Relations Officer at the Ballymena Rehoming Centre in July 2015. The role is very varied and no two days are the same.
I offer free talks to community groups and also organise tours of the rehoming centre, as well as dealing with all the local enquiries about donations in memory of a loved one. I can also talk to you about the Canine Care Card Scheme and answer any legacy enquiries.
The annual Fun Day is also my responsibility and I help with the social media coverage for the rehoming centre too!
I have three dogs: a grumpy Pug called Jasper, a shy Pekingese called Georgia and a mad Afghan Hound called Margo. My favourite colour is blue. The thing I like best about my job is meeting new people when out and about doing talks and hearing their funny doggy stories - plus being part of a great team working towards the same goal. My hobbies include dog showing (having made up UK and Irish Champions), travelling, shopping (obviously!) and walks with the dogs. Finally, a little known fact about me is that I can sometimes be seen in a kilt as I am a tenor drummer in a Scottish Pipe Band and even pick up the bass drum when needed.
If you would like any information about booking a talk or tour for your community group or are enquiring about the Canine Care Card Scheme or legacies, then please don’t hesitate to call me on 028 2566 1007 or 07436 162209 or email me at [email protected]
