Samuel Reid, Ballymena Supporter Relations Officer
Hello, I’m Samuel Reid and I’m the Supporter Relations Officer at Dogs Trust Ballymena. I’ve worked for Dogs Trust since March 1997 and became and SRO in 2015. The role is very varied and no two days are the same.
I offer free talks to community groups and also organise tours of the rehoming centre, as well as dealing with all the local enquiries about donations in memory of a loved one. I can also talk to you about the free Canine Care Card service and answer any legacy enquiries.
The annual Christmas Fair is also my responsibility, as well as attending the closest DogFest event to help with the Dogs Trust Village.
I have three dogs: a shy Pekingese called Georgia and two crazy Afghan Hounds called Margo and Rocco, who all keep me very busy.
The thing I like best about my job is meeting new people when out and about doing talks and hearing their funny doggy stories - plus being part of a great team working towards the same goal. My hobbies include dog showing (having made up UK and Irish Champions), travelling, shopping and walks with the dogs. Finally, a little-known fact about me is that I can sometimes be seen in a kilt as I am a tenor and bass drummer in a Scottish Pipe Band.
If you would like any information about booking a talk or tour for your community group or are enquiring about the Canine Care Card service or legacies, then please don’t hesitate to call me on 028 2566 1007 or email me at [email protected]
