What to expect at our Checkup & chip events

Our Campaigns teams visit areas within London, Wales, Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland to offer FREE Checkup and Chip Events. These include basic health and weight checks, nail clipping, microchipping and advice on updating your details, and advice about dog ownership. Our team will also provide advice on diet, training and neutering. We have lots of handy tips and useful resources available.

Dogs Trust also runs a subsidised neutering scheme at participating veterinary practices. The team can let you know if you are eligible, and how to access the scheme.

The team also offers free on-the-spot microchipping for dogs that aren’t yet chipped (microchipping is a legal requirement as of April 2016). We can also advise you about changing your microchip details should it be needed, and scan your dog to provide you with their microchip number to enable you to do this.

You should always make sure you update your dog's details on the microchip database if you move address or change telephone number. Find out more about microchipping.
