Dog-friendly oat biscuits recipe
Win your furry pal’s affection with these quick-to-bake treats.
Tired of the guilt trip when you won’t share your cosy afternoon snacks with your pup? Worried they might pack up their belongings in a bundle and leave to find someone who will? Well, we’ve got just the thing.
These warm and zingy blueberry bites will be sure to have your sofa sidekick sticking by your side. They’re pooch-friendly, quick to bake, and only use three ingredients. Oh – and they’re delicious – so don’t expect your pup to share.
Before you begin…
When making these treats, reduce your dog’s usual food portion so that they’re not overfed. If you’re concerned about giving your dog new foods, speak to your vet before baking.
You’ll need:
- 100g oats
- 1 banana (mashed)
- 40g fresh blueberries (chopped)
- some water
What to do:
- preheat your oven to 175°C
- mix the banana, oats, and blueberries, adding splashes of water until it combines in one large ball
- roll out the mixture so it’s roughly 1-2cm thick and cut out any shapes you fancy using a cutter or knife
- pop the shapes on a lined baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes until slightly browned
- leave to cool
- plate up your pup’s new favourite snack, pop the kettle on and get comfy. Looks like your best pal’s sticking around after all.
Top tip: use an appropriately sized biscuit for your individual pup. You may need to chop one up before feeding it to them. Keep any leftovers in the fridge for up to a few days.
