Volunteer Driver
Our Volunteer Drivers make a huge contribution to the success of our rehoming centres and fostering schemes. Whether supporting the fostering team, helping to set up events, collecting or delivering dogs, you can be sure that you will be providing vital support to all teams across the centre or Fostering service.
This is a flexible role and time commitment may vary due to the nature of a busy rehoming centre/fostering service. Please note, in some cases we may require you to have access to your own vehicle depending on the location you are volunteering for. Mileage is reimbursable through our volunteer expenses policy.
What will you be doing?
- transporting our dogs between their foster homes and rehoming centres
- bringing food, medication, or other equipment to foster homes
- collecting dogs from foster homes for veterinary checks at the centre/local vets
- helping teams to transport equipment to events
- delivering donations to the local Dogs Trust charity shop
- cleaning the inside of the Dogs Trust Vehicles after use where required
- following Dogs Trust policies and procedures
- any other driving related tasks as set by your centre or fostering team.
We're looking for someone with:
- a full UK driving license
- excellent inter-personal skills
- a diplomatic approach to problem-solving
- the ability to work comfortably both in a close-knit team and alone
- a conscientious with a can-do attitude
- the ability to follow instructions
- an interest in dogs and dog welfare.
For this role volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
