Dogs Trust

COVID-19 info: Our rehoming centres are currently closed to the public but you can still adopt some of our dogs: take a look at their profiles to see which ones. We’ve set up a new rehoming process which includes social distancing measures to help keep staff and adopters safe.

Hello, I'm Sammy

Labrador/German Shepherd cross

About me

I’m Sammy, a Black Labrador cross German Shepherd, and I live at Dogs Trust West Calder. My carers say I’m a macho gent who loves any kind of tasty treat. I’m proof that a dog is for life and not just for Christmas… you see, I was born on Christmas Day and came to Dogs Trust as a pup. I’ve been rehomed several times but unfortunately these didn't work out. I came back to Dogs Trust who promised to care for me forever! My loving carers know all my needs and we work so well together. They know all my favourite games of ‘fetch’ and ‘tug-of-war’, it’s grrrreat!

Why I need sponsoring

I arrived at Dogs Trust as a puppy and did have a home, but then was brought back to the Centre. I've had another home since then but that also didn't work out. You see, I'm a big dog and I don't like to be controlled so I can be a handful. Luckily my carers know exactly how to look after me!

  • Going for a swim
  • Making a mess with cardboard boxes!

  • Being told what to do

Dogs you can see

You’re welcome to come and visit me, please make sure you call the Centre first on 01506 873459. I’m afraid you won’t be able to touch me because I’m a bit nervous around people I don’t know – I’ll still be so happy to see you though!
