Ollie (Luca) from Glasgow
After losing our Jack Russell Terrier Stella at age 15 to Kidney Failure a few months ago our lives felt empty, we had always wanted to re-home a dog and give him or her the best life as were huge animals lovers. Unfortunately there’s not much re-homing centers where we live so we travelled from Aberdeen to Glasgow to initially meet another dog however sadly that did not work out and just as we gave up hope the woman at Dogs Trust brought out Lucas file (now named Ollie)
We were very keen to meet him after a brief discussion about his background and as soon as we met him it was love at first sight! There and then we reserved him, travelled down a further 2 times and finally collected him to take him home to Aberdeen on the 20th July.
We’ve had Ollie for just over a week now and we can’t of asked for more from him, he is an incredibly fast learner and such a happy dog; within 3 days he started to respond to his new name, his recall when we are out with him is brilliant (even better if you have a squeaky ball he wont leave your side!) everyday he is getting more and more confident that we are coming back when we leave the room and its heart warming to see! he is such a trusting, loving dog with everyone and other animals. He’s really enjoying the long walks at our fields, as well as car journeys to other walks.
We want to thank everyone at Dogs Trust for their continued support and how helpful they were when we travelled down, the void in our lives is now filled and although we will never forget our last dog its time to give that love to another dog who needs it.
