Jasper from Shrewsbury (Shropshire)

We adopted Jasper from Dogs Trust Roden all the way back in 2003. We nearly missed him, quietly and shyly hanging around at the back of the kennel while other dogs ran to the front to get our attention. There was something about him though so we asked to see him. Straight away we had a bond. I'll never forget the first time we ran across the field at Roden. Jasper was a totally different dog out of the Kennel. He came home with us just a couple of weeks later and took up his place in our home and our hearts. A faithful, loyal and loving companion through all these years. We couldn't have asked for a better dog to share our lives with. We have just lost Jasper to cancer. Losing him was the hardest day of my life, and everywhere around our home there are reminders of him. He may have gone - but his memory lives on in all the joy he gave us. I'm glad that we chose him and glad that we went to Dogs Trust to find our companion.
