Arthur

I'm looking for my forever home. Could you be my perfect match?

Are you right for Arthur?

Super loving ball of energy Arthur is a 9 month old Staffy Cross with so much character. He loves to run and bound around and will happily race you to see who is fastest. He hasn’t really figured out what he is supposed to do with toys yet, he is intrigued by them and will chase around after them, but isn’t sure what to do once he gets to them, he is waiting for a family who can show him the ropes. Once he knows you, he likes a gentle fuss and will put his paws on your leg for more, his favourite spot is a scratch behind the ears. This cool dude is looking for his new family.

Is Arthur right for you?

Arthur is looking for a home with loving and active adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and attention he deserves. He is a friendly and playful bean who could live with secondary school children who are comfortable around a clumsy dog, who will play with him nicely and will give him space to rest when needed. Arthur likes all of the attention to himself, so is looking to be the only pet in the home, he would benefit from having friendly and polite walking buddies who will help him learn to socialise with other dogs in a polite way. Arthur is still just a baby and hasn’t learnt too much so far, but is an attentive guy who could engage in training in short, sweet sessions as long as a tasty treat is on offer. He would like a home with a private, secure garden for him to potter about in at his leisure and do his toilet training. Arthur could settle nicely in the home as long as he has had a nice walk to tucker him out and is left enrichment to keep him busy, so could be left for up to 4 hours, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Arthur will need to meet his adopters a few times prior to going home so please bear all of this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet him within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

How our rehoming process works

  1. 1

Create an account and fill out our application form

In our form you can tell us all about your home, your lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can add favourites to give us an idea of the dogs you like. We’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

  2. 2

    Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found...

    We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

  6. 6

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.
