Teddy

Teddy is a gorgeous 9-month-old Standard Poodle cross Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is looking for an experienced and active home. As he is still a young dog, Teddy has lots to learn and would love adopters who are happy to continue his training. Teddy cannot currently live with another dog, although he would benefit from having social doggy friends and continuing to work on his social skills. He absolutely loves other dogs, but can become very over-excited around them and needs help learning how to interact more calmly. Teddy cannot live with cats or small furries, and we have no history of him around livestock. Teddy would benefit from attending positive, reward-based training classes, which would be a fantastic way to build his skills while having fun with his new family. He will need an adult-only home. He is housetrained and travels well in the car, although he can feel worried about jumping in. Teddy also pulls on his harness, so his new family will need to continue working with him on walking calmly and comfortably. Teddy isn't currently used to being left alone, so this is something that will need to be gradually and patiently worked on in his new home. He could cope with a reasonably busy household.

Lovely Teddy is a cuddly, affectionate boy with a wonderful character! He loves making friends and greets everyone he meets with lots of enthusiasm. Teddy absolutely loves other dogs, although he is still learning how to manage his excitement around them. With the right ongoing training, he would benefit from building his social skills and learning how to interact more calmly. As a young and intelligent dog, Teddy will need plenty of mental stimulation to keep his clever brain busy. He already loves his snuffle mat and puzzle toys, and would enjoy fun activities such as scent work or trick training classes. He also enjoys playing find-it games with treats, balls or soft toys. Teddy is very food motivated and enjoys treats, with some of his favourites including carrots, cucumber and natural chews. When it's time to relax, he loves nothing more than a cuddle, a tummy rub or a snooze on his favourite blanket. He enjoys being groomed, loves going for walks and spending time in the garden. Teddy has lots of energy and would enjoy an active lifestyle where he can explore, play and take part in plenty of fun activities. Teddy does have a nervous side and can be worried by certain things. He can also find walking near busy roads and loud noises overwhelming, so his new family will need to be patient and understanding while helping him build his confidence. Teddy has a high prey drive and will need appropriate management and ongoing training when out and about. He already knows sit, wait, down and “walk on”, and would love to continue learning new things with his new family. With an experienced home that can provide plenty of activity, affection and ongoing training, Teddy could be a fantastic companion. He has a lovely character, lots of love to give and is ready to find a family who will help him become the very best version of himself.
