Are you right for Hogan?

🐾 24 Hours in the Life of Hogan! Hi, I’m Hogan! I’m a medium-sized bundle of fun (20kg, in case you’re wondering!) with a BIG heart, a very busy brain and an absolutely enormous capacity for cuddles. 7am – Morning cuddles, obviously! 🥰 Before we do anything else, there must be cuddles. I’m a very affectionate boy and my humans are pretty much my favourite things in the whole world. Big humans, little humans… I love being part of the family! I’m looking for a home where I can be someone’s very special boy and get lots of love and attention. Older children would probably suit me best, as I do rather like being the centre of attention and a busy home with younger children might mean less spotlight on me! 9am – Adventure time! 🌳🐿️ I LOVE a good walk, especially when there are fields, and countryside where I can run off lead and exciting new smells to investigate. If you’re looking for a walking buddy who’ll get you out exploring, I’m your guy. 11am – Brain games and learning new tricks! 🧠 I’m not just a handsome face – I’ve got a very active mind, too! I’d love a human who enjoys training, teaching me new things and finding fun ways to keep my brain busy. Think games, adventures, learning and lots of rewards. We could have so much fun together! 1pm – More time with my favourite people ❤️ Other dogs? They’re fine, but I’m much more interested in my humans. I’m not really looking for doggy best friends! I can be walked around other dogs, but I generally prefer to do my own thing rather than socialise. I’d be happiest as the only dog in the home, where I can enjoy all the love and attention without having to share it.

Is Hogan right for you?

3pm – Out and about! 🚗 I’m a confident chap. Vets? No problem! Cars, trains and buses? I’ve travelled on them all. Busy places and loud noises don’t faze me, either. I’m a pretty capable lad, although I’m used to having lots of lovely green space around me, so a home with countryside walks would suit me much better than busy city life. 5pm – Time to put my paws up (but stay close to you!) 🛋️ After a good walk and some brain-busting fun, I’m ready to relax with my favourite people. I’m used to my humans working from home and spending lots of time around me, but I am used to being left for a few hours on my own. In my new home, I’ll need you to build up alone time gradually while I settle in and learn that you always come back. 8pm – Cuddles, cuddles and MORE cuddles! Have I mentioned that I love cuddles? Because I REALLY love cuddles. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’ll make you laugh, join you on adventures, keep you company and give you all the affection you could wish for, I might just be your perfect match. So, what do you say? I’m Hogan, and I’m looking for my person (or people!). A loving home, wonderful walks, fun things to learn and humans who want a dog to share life with. I don’t need a house full of other pets or a bustling city lifestyle. I just need a family who’ll let me be their special boy. Could you be my happily-ever-after? 🐾❤️

How our rehoming process works

  1. 1

Create an account and fill out our application form

In our form you can tell us all about your home, your lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can add favourites to give us an idea of the dogs you like. We’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

  2. 2

    Choose a rehoming centre

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found...

  3. 3

    We’ll review your application

We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

We’ll keep your application open for three months and keep looking for a match

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

  6. 6

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.
