Meet Timothy, affectionately know as “Timmy” by the team, he is a 1 and a half year old Border Collie who checks in with his favourite people for reassurance. He loves a good adventure on walks, taking his time to sniff and explore every inch. He is a super smart guy, who likes to learn new tricks and show off his skills with jumps, pole weaving and climbing onto our A-frames like a nimble cat. He is a super wiggly and affectionate boy, who see himself as a bit of a lapdog, he does need you to check in with him to make sure he is still comfortable with the attention. This super sweet guy is ready to find his new home.
Is Timothy right for you?
Timothy is looking for a quiet and predictable home with loving and understanding adopters who can take him on sniffy adventures, who will take the time to help him settle in and give him all the love and care he deserves. He is a sweet boy who finds the world rather overwhelming at times, so would like to live in an adult only home, if there is a quiet area in the home he can take himself off to the rest and relax, that would be the best. Timothy is a friendly boy and could live with another dog who will happily engage in occasional play, although this is not a necessity, he would be happy with polite and friendly walking buddies. Timothy is smart cookie with a wide resume of tricks under his paw, he does a lovely “sit”, “down”, “paw”, “down”, “touch” and is a bit of an agility whizz too. He is eager to engage in training in short, sweet sessions as long as a tasty treat is on offer. He would like a home with a private, secure garden for him to have some quality time pottering about in at his leisure with no worries or distractions. Timothy can be worried being left, so is looking for someone to be home the majority of the time to begin with, he can settle when provided with enrichment so could potentially be left in future, any leaving time would need to be built up slowly once he has had time to settle into his new home. Timothy will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home with potential home visits to make sure he is settling in ok, so please bear all of this in mind when applying.

In our form you can tell us all about your home, your lifestyle and the kind of dogs you’re interested in. You won’t be applying for a specific dog, but you can add favourites to give us an idea of the dogs you like. We’ll use this information to find a great match for you.

We’ll also ask you to select a rehoming centre. The team at this centre will look after your application and assess you against all suitable dogs in their care. This doesn’t have to be your nearest centre, but you will need to travel there within a few days once we’ve found...

We’ll review your application
We’ll review your application against the dogs in our care at your chosen centre. If we think we have the right dog for you, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible. If we don’t hear back from you, we will close your application for now, and you can reapply when you’re ready.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.
We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together
If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog
When we’ve matched you with a dog, we’ll help you welcome them to your home. After adoption we’ll keep in touch to see how you and the dog are doing. If you need any advice or support, we’re just a phone call away.
