Ty is a 4-year-9-month-old bull breed with a friendly nature and a big, bouncy personality. He’s excitable when meeting new people and can get a little “pingy” and over-the-top when he’s feeling playful, so he’s looking for an owner who understands bully breed traits and can provide calm, consistent guidance. Ty would thrive in an active but relatively calm home with older teenagers who are confident around boisterous dogs. He enjoys his walks and can happily stroll alongside other dogs, but he prefers to keep his distance and isn’t keen on dogs getting in his face. A home with a secure outdoor space would be ideal, as he loves to mooch around and play tug and raggy games. While he has been left alone for periods in the past, this will need to be built up gradually again, as he’s grown more attached to people and enjoys their company.

Is Ty right for you?

Ty could be a wonderful companion if you’re looking for a loyal, characterful dog who will keep you smiling with his playful antics. He would need to be the only pet in the home, as he cannot live with other dogs, cats, or small animals. His moderate energy levels mean he enjoys daily exercise and enrichment without being overly demanding, but he does need an outlet for his enthusiasm and strength. Ty’s affectionate side really shines once he’s settled, and with the right structure and understanding, he’ll form a strong bond with his new family. If you have experience with bull breeds and are happy to embrace a dog who can be a bit silly and full-on at times, Ty could be a fantastic addition to your home.

If we’ve found a dog who seems right for you, we’ll invite you to come and meet them at the rehoming centre.

Some of the dogs in our care will need to meet potential owners several times to get to know one another. This lets us see you’re compatible and gives you the chance to build a bond before making a commitment to give them a new home. By taking some time at the beginning to make sure everyone’s comfortable, an adoption is more likely to be successful.

We may also arrange a home visit with you, to see how your house will be set up and check that the garden (if you have one) is secure. This may not be necessary, though, especially if you’ve adopted from us before. Where you already have dogs, we may accept a reference from your vet as an alternative.

If we haven’t found the right match, we’ll continue the search together

If we haven’t found the right dog for you within three months, we’ll let you know your application is closed. We’ll invite you to apply again so we have up-to-date information about you, and we’ll keep looking.

We’ll support you to embark on a new life with your dog

When we’ve matched you with a dog, we’ll help you welcome them to your home. After adoption we’ll keep in touch to see how you and the dog are doing. If you need any advice or support, we’re just a phone call away.
