Covid-19 update: Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but we’re still rehoming and taking in dogs, with social distancing measures in place to keep our staff and adopters safe.

West Calder (Edinburgh)

Come say hello!

Our rehoming centres aren’t open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes to keep staff, visitors and adopters safe, including matching dogs with their new homes virtually and delivering dogs contact-free.

Local restrictions may affect our rehoming procedures, so please check the rules for your area: we’re not able to facilitate appointments or adoptions across different tiers, or anywhere there are travel restrictions.

We’re currently experiencing an unprecedented amount of interest, with some dogs getting several hundred applications. Please bear with us, we’re doing everything we can to find our dogs their forever homes.

Please keep an eye out for event updates. We run a series of fun days encouraging people to find the perfect pooch, and everyone is welcome.

Manager Susan Tonner and the team look after 37 kennels filled with dogs waiting for their forever homes. We're only closed one day a week (Tuesday), so there are plenty of opportunities to drop in; who knows, you might find the dog of your dreams!

Our Supporter Relations Officer (SRO), Úna Race, can offer free talks to community groups and organise tours of the rehoming centre. She also deals with all the local enquiries about donations in memory of a loved one, as well as answering any questions about our free Canine Care Card Scheme or legacies. She also organises the annual Fun Day and helps with the social media coverage for the rehoming centre too!
