COVID-19 info: Our rehoming centres are not open for public browsing but you can still make an appointment to adopt or bring a dog to us. We’ve set up new processes which include social distancing measures to help keep staff and our visitors safe.

Shopping spree for hopeful hounds

Our friends at Pets at Home and all of their VIP Club members who have chosen to support Dogs Trust have given an extra bit of help to treat our very own VIP’s!

They’ve generously donated each of our 20 rehoming centres with an additional £1,000 of VIP Lifelines to spend in their local Pets at Home store for anything they need, squeaky toys to soft beds and everything in between.

One of our VIP’s, six year old Roxy the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, headed down to her local Pets at Home store to pick up some treats for her and her canine pals at the rehoming centre to enjoy. Along with her canine carer Nickie, she perused the aisles contemplating what to spend their extra Lifelines on. After a successful shopping trip, she went back to the rehoming centre to show off the haul of goodies to be enjoyed by all the dogs while they wait for their forever homes.

Our lovable Roxy was a stray handed into our Basildon rehoming centre and is currently living with a foster family while she waits for her special someone. Likewise, her pals Sasha and Sky are very active pups and love nothing more than trying out new toys and learning lots of new things, so they jumped straight in to check out their new gifts!

You too can help to treat dogs like Roxy, Sasha and Sky through Pets at Home’s VIP club. Every time VIP club members shop with Pets at Home and swipe their VIP card, they receive ‘Lifelines’ to go towards their nominated charity. For those who choose Dogs Trust, some of these Lifelines are converted by Pets at Home to provide Wainwright’s dog food for all the dogs in our rehoming centres, or they are sent as vouchers for your local rehoming centre to spend on treats or toys for the dogs in their care!

As well as keeping our dogs appetites well and truly satisfied, the unique loyalty scheme for Pets at Home gives its members a whole host of benefits in the form of discount vouchers - to a quarterly magazine along with expert advice and hints and tips to help keep your VIP happy and healthy.

If you’re an existing VIP club member or would like to support Dogs Trust by signing up to the VIP club and donate your Lifelines to help our dogs, visit their website or call 0800 328 4204 and select option 1 for VIP.
