Dogs Trust

UPDATE: Our rehoming centres are closed until further notice, however we are now able to rehome a small number of our amazing dogs. Each dog’s profile will let you know if they are looking for a new home. For the time-being, we are unable to register your interest for dogs who are not yet available for rehoming.

Teddy & Koukla’s London Marathon

Georgina and her two dogs take on the 2.6 Challenge

Imperial College London student, Georgina Anastassopoulos and her dogs, are taking to the street of London this week to raise funds for the dogs in our care.

These Central London residents are making use of the empty London streets to incorporate their daily exercise into a fundraiser based around the distance of the London Marathon.

With her gorgeous dogs, Teddy the cockapoo and Koukla her rescue dog. Georgina is walking 23 miles around London's West End (in order to stay close to her house and obey the government guidelines) over 4 days  and then she will complete the last three miles of the official London Marathon, walking from Tower Bridge to The Mall on Sunday 26th April - the day the marathon would have been held!

Georgina explains:

“Koukla is a rescue dog from Greece, who had no fur and weighed under 2kg when she was found and so the work that Dogs Trust do for all of the neglected and unwanted dogs in England really means a lot to us.”

“We really wish to raise awareness of the work that Dogs Trust is continuing to do during this time, as all of their dogs must still be cared for, but none of them can be rehomed at the moment, and so they now need donations more than ever.”

Please see the full story on Georgia's JustGiving page and also we will be documenting our progress on Teddy's Instagram @teddyoflondon

Teddy & Koukla’s walk coincides with the nationwide 2.6 Challenge which will also be taking place on Sunday. If you would like to do your own challenge for Dogs Trust take a look at our 26 Challenge Ideas.
