Pass on something wonderful
Find out more about leaving a gift in your will.
At Dogs Trust, gifts in Wills account for around a third of our income. They are integral to our work and we are always amazed at the generosity of our supporters. Through this kind act, supporters can continue their love of dogs even after they’re gone by helping us to care for thousands of stray and abandoned dogs who desperately need us.
This year from the 9th to the 15th September is Remember a Charity Week, an opportunity for more than 200 charities to come together to help raise awareness about the importance of gifts in Wills. This year will be the 10th anniversary of the campaign and to celebrate, we will be taking a retro journey back to the 1970’s! A parody of the classic tv show Points of View will address some of the common misconceptions around legacy giving and hopefully inspire more people to consider leaving a gift in their Will to charities. The script is full of nostalgic humour and was written by the extremely talented Matt Berry who was thrilled to be a part of the campaign. Keep an eye out for it on our social media pages. You may have already enjoyed a teaser video featuring the one and only Len Goodman of Strictly fame! If not, be sure to check out our Facebook page too. To follow everything that’s happening over the course of the week, search #rememberacharityweek and help us spread the word about legacy giving and how important it is for charities.
The over-arching theme for this year’s Remember a Charity Week is “Pass on something wonderful”. For us, everyone who has kindly pledged to leave a gift in their Will to Dogs Trust has already passed on something wonderful. They are the ones who make everything we do possible. They’re making the world a better place for dogs. If you would like to pass on something wonderful, here’s what you can do;
