Free family half-term workshops from Dogs Trust
October is when we ask ourselves the big question: trick or treat? We say, why not both?! Give your family a treat and learn some new tricks this half-term by coming along to one of our dog-focused fun, educational and free workshops. These face-to-face workshops are packed with engaging dog-related games and activities, designed to teach children how to behave responsibly around dogs and understand their body language. Did we mention they’re free?
We ask that you please leave your pooch at home, so you and your children can give your full attention to the workshop to get the most out of it. But please feel free to bring in some pictures as we’d love to see them.
Learn dog safety and have fun!
Sadly, a lot of incidents between dogs and children happen with much-loved family pets, where our little ones may have misunderstood what our pooches have tried to tell them. By teaching our children more about how dogs communicate, we can help avoid these incidents so we can focus on the important things, like playing games and snuggling on the sofa together after a long walk.
While this is a serious issue, we promise our workshops are anything but! Each 90-minute session will help your dog-loving children learn to greet dogs safely, how to tell if a pooch is friendly, and how to behave so their fluffy friends feel safe and comfortable around them.
