From stray to star: Dogs Trust rescue dog unveiled as new Blue Peter dog!
We are thrilled to announce that a Dogs Trust rescue dog has been unveiled as the newest Blue Peter dog!
Henry - a Beagle/Bassett Hound cross, and former resident of Dogs Trust Loughborough was introduced to the nation on BBC Breakfast, and already has a growing army of fans ahead of his live debut on Blue Peter.
Adam Clowes, Operations Director says:
“We’re delighted to have been able to find another rescue dog to join the Blue Peter family and it has been nine years since Dogs Trust dog, Barney, was adopted by previous Blue Peter presenter, Helen Skelton. We think Henry will be a great addition to the Blue Peter team and he will be flying the flag for rescue dogs.”
Well-mannered canine Henry, was originally named Flash when he arrived at Dogs Trust earlier this year but as soon as Assistant Manager Lily met him she knew he had star potential, she says:
“He was so gentle, but with a lovely playful and social side that made him stand out from the crowd. He loves interacting with people and dogs alike and has taken everything in his stride so far, I have no doubt that he will excel as a TV star!”
Henry is one of the thousands of crossbreeds we care for and rehome every year. Henry is very inquisitive and super keen to learn and engage with people which is perfect for all the adventures that come with being part of the Blue Peter family.
Today, those involved in his journey from stray to star are heading to Blue Peter to watch his debut and celebrate another rescue dog joining the TV ranks. We can't wait to see Henry's next adventure!
