Guest Wi-Fi Terms & Conditions

These are the terms on which Dogs Trust, a charity registered in the United Kingdom (registered charity numbers 227523 & SC037843), whose head office is Dogs Trust House, Wakley Street, London, EC1V 7RQ (“Dogs Trust”, “we”, “us”, “our”), will provide free, unsecured Wi-Fi internet access to you across participating Dogs Trust sites (the “Service”).

To access the Service, you must confirm that you accept these Terms and have read our Privacy Notice by ticking the box on the Wi-Fi welcome page. If you do not accept these terms, you will not be able to use the Service.

We may update or withdraw the Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after updated terms are posted means you accept those changes. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

• The Service is for personal use only.
• You must have a Wi-Fi-enabled device compatible with standard public wireless networking.
• Your device’s specification, configuration, and condition may impact performance.
• You accept the risk of device issues, failures, or damage that may result from using public Wi-Fi.
• We do not guarantee that the Service will:
  • always be available,
  • be error-free,
  • meet any specific speed, purpose, or requirement.

We may occasionally interrupt the Service for:

• maintenance,
• upgrades,
• emergencies, or
• network protection and fair-use management.

We are not responsible for:

• lost data,
• disrupted access to websites or apps,
• corruption of files, or
• failures caused by interruptions, congestion, or network performance issues.

• The Service operates on an unsecured public Wi-Fi network.
• This carries inherent security risks.
• We cannot guarantee the confidentiality or security of any information stored on or transmitted by your device while using the Service.
• You use the Service entirely at your own risk.

We are not liable for:

• confirming that the network is secure,
• preventing interception of your data, or
• securing personal accounts, messages, or services you access online.

We may:

• impose fair-use limits,
• restrict categories of websites or content without notice,
• block activity that threatens network stability, performance, or security.

We are not responsible for:

• third-party websites you visit,
• downloads you make,
• content you access,
• viruses or malicious content originating from external sites or services.

You are responsible for:

• maintaining your own device security,
• using up-to-date antivirus or endpoint protection,
• ensuring you have the legal right to access the content or services you use online.

If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian’s consent to use this Service. Parents/guardians accepting on behalf of a person under 18 agree to:

1. supervise use,
2. assume associated risks,
3. accept liability for misuse by that user.

You must not use the Service or any part of it to:

• breach these terms or any UK law,
• attempt to bypass, defeat, or test network security controls,
• perform hacking, scanning, spoofing, or traffic interception,
• insert or distribute malicious code, viruses, or harmful data,
• overload or disrupt the network (including denial-of-service activity),
• send spam, bulk, or unsolicited advertising or marketing,
• infringe intellectual property rights,
• access or distribute illegal or abusive content, including:
  • obscene, defamatory, abusive, or threatening material,
  • content promoting racism, hatred, bigotry, or harm to any group or individual,
  • any content or activity that may compromise our systems or interfere with others’ use of the Service,
• attempt to modify, reverse-engineer, or decompile the Service or related systems.

We may take action we consider appropriate and proportionate, including blocking or terminating access, if these terms are breached.

To operate Wi-Fi, your device broadcasts a randomised or pseudo MAC address. We collect this to establish and maintain your Wi-Fi session only.

• This is not your factory-encoded MAC address.
• “Pseudo” means identifying elements are hashed, removed, or randomised to reduce personal identification risk.
• This is used only for network operations, not for tracking you as an individual.

We are not liable for:

• accidental loss, destruction, or unauthorised access to personal information transmitted over Wi-Fi.

We treat your personal information with care and respect your privacy. We do share your information with Dogs Trust and its subsidiaries. Your personal information is never shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. It may be processed on our

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Unless required by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage related to the Service, including:

• loss of income, profit, contracts, savings, business, or goodwill,
• indirect or consequential loss,
• costs and expenses,
• loss or corruption of data,
• viruses or malicious infection affecting your device,
• unauthorised access to information you transmit,
• performance failures caused by events outside our control.

We do not exclude or limit liability for:

• death or personal injury due to negligence,
• fraud,
• or any rights protected under UK consumer law.

By using the Service, you agree that:

• these Terms and any related dispute or claim (including non-contractual ones) are governed by the law of England, Wales and Scotland, and
• the courts of England, Wales and Scotland have exclusive jurisdiction.

• Transfers: We may transfer our obligations to another organisation without reducing your legal rights.
• No third-party rights: These Terms do not grant rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
• Severability: If any part is found invalid, the rest remains in effect.
• Waiver: Delayed enforcement of rights does not remove our ability to enforce them later.
