Are you right for Miley?

Miley is a sweet and gentle 1-year-old Collie looking for a calm, understanding home where she can continue to grow in confidence at her own pace. She would be best suited to a quieter household and could happily live with older teenagers who can respect her space and understand her body language. Miley would truly thrive in a home with at least one friendly resident dog to help guide and reassure her as she learns about family life. Sadly, Miley had never experienced living in a home before coming into foster care, so many everyday things are still new to her. However, she is making lovely progress and slowly learning that the world doesn’t have to be scary. She is now searching for a kind and patient person or family who can give her the love, time, and reassurance she needs to feel safe and secure. Once Miley trusts you, her gentle and affectionate personality really begins to shine. Miley loves exploring and would enjoy having a secure garden to call her own, as this will also help with her house training. With patience, understanding, and another canine companion by her side, Miley has so much potential to blossom into a wonderful lifelong friend.

Is Miley right for you?

While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, once she has had the chance to get to know you a few times, her affectionate and loyal side really begins to shine. She forms strong bonds with her people and loves being close to those she trusts. Dogs are Miley’s happy place — she absolutely loves every dog she meets. Although she can sometimes take a little time to feel brave and fully confident around them, she is always curious, interested, and eager to be involved in whatever they are doing. Having another calm and friendly dog in the home would help her continue to grow in confidence. One of Miley’s best qualities is how food motivated she is, which has made her training and confidence building much easier. She is eager to learn and responds beautifully to gentle encouragement, patience, and plenty of tasty treats. With the right home, Miley is going to make an incredibly rewarding companion and watching her confidence grow is truly special.
