He was found abandoned, cold and alone.

Your gift will mean dogs like Harry enjoy a happy place this Christmas.

Can you imagine how it feels to be scared, cold, alone? Having lost everything.

That was the sad reality for 11-year-old Staffy Harry, who had been abandoned and found wandering the streets in winter last year. We don’t know much about his past or what trauma he had been through. But we know it wasn’t the warm, loving life every dog deserves.

If we hadn’t taken him in, we don’t know what would have happened to him. It’s only thanks to you and other dog lovers that we can be there for dogs like Harry.

Will you give a gift and support a dog in need this Christmas?

Harry loves nothing more than a cuddle and spends much of his time in our rehoming office. He greets staff every morning with his tail wagging, charming everyone he meets with his gentle nature and love of unicorn teddies. Despite all he’s been through, Harry radiates warmth and trust.

Dogs stay with us for 61 days on average, but sadly older dogs often have more complex needs which require costly care. Harry suffers from spondylosis in his spine and arthritis in his elbow and left shoulder which means he needs long term medications to manage his pain relief.

We’re giving him the comfort and care he needs. But creating these happy places—safe, loving environments—comes at a cost. Dogs Trust never puts a healthy dog down and that’s why we desperately need your help. It costs around £58 a day to look after a dog, and we receive over 3,000 enquiries a month from owners looking to hand over their pet.

Your donation will provide treats, medication, toys and blankets to help dogs feel safe and happy.

This Christmas will be wrapped in love for Harry. But there are thousands more dogs that need your help. I’m sure you agree, every dog deserves their happy place—somewhere to feel safe, loved, and cared for until they find their forever home. And we can’t be there for them without you. Will you help give that to more dogs like Harry?
