Dora the Staffy sits outdoors at a frosty Rehoming Centre

This winter, hundreds of dogs will be abandoned.

Your gift could give a frightened dog the happy place they desperately need.

As temperatures drop and nights grow longer, we see a sharp increase in the number of stray and abandoned dogs left to fend for themselves. With fewer people around to spot a dog in danger, the cold puts already vulnerable dogs at even greater risk.

This winter, we expect to take in nearly 900 stray and abandoned dogs who have nowhere to go. Your gift of £30 today could help create a happy place for dogs like Dora, who have lost everything.

Dora the Staffy receives medical attention after being rescued by Dogs Trust

“Thankfully, we got to Dora in time. Our vets tended to her broken tail and gave her pain relief, as well as medication for her skin. We had to feed her little and often to build her weight back up.” - Emma, Rehoming Manager

Dora was found just after Christmas, wandering alone in the cold. She was dangerously underweight, her tail was broken and her skin was infected. No one knows how long she had been fending for herself, but every hour alone was putting her life at risk.

When Dora arrived in our care, she had finally reached safety. She received immediate veterinary care, gentle handling, warmth and regular small meals to rebuild her strength. Slowly Dora began to recover. The pain eased, she wagged her tail and her eyes brightened with trust again.

“Dora has bounced back and is now the life and soul of the party! She loves people and hugs, and always greets everyone with a big Staffy smile.” - Emma, Rehoming Manager

Your gift of £30 today could help give another dog like Dora the chance to heal in a safe and loving environment.
