When Daisy was smuggled into the UK, she was heavily pregnant, exhausted and terrified. Just days away from giving birth, her life and the lives of her unborn puppies, were in serious danger.
Every year, hundreds of dogs are smuggled into the UK and forced to endure shocking cruelty. Cramped into tiny, filthy spaces with no food, no water and no care, they are left to suffer. Daisy was one of them. Heavily pregnant and facing this nightmare alone.
But thanks to your support, our Puppy Pilot scheme was there to rescue Daisy at the border.
With urgent vet care and a safe place to rest, she soon gave birth to four healthy puppies.
But for every Daisy we reach in time, so many more are left behind. Heavily pregnant mums transported in dangerous conditions. Puppies torn from their mothers at just weeks old. Dogs treated as nothing more than a way to make money.
