Donate today to help keep dogs and owners together.

It’s only with your generosity that we’re able to continue our groundbreaking research and provide essential support to dogs and owners when they need it most.

Your generous gift will go a long way with helping to give dogs the second chance at life they deserve.

Your support helps us to conduct vital research which ensures that the decisions we make are evidence-based. As well as helping to keep the dogs in our care healthy and happy, the evidence produced also informs how we can support dog owners to provide the best care for dogs.

Through our National Dog Surveys, we’ve been able to discover where our help is most needed, and have used the results to shape our services and meet the needs of dogs and their owners across the UK.

With responses from over 400,000 people, this year’s survey was the biggest yet. 373,216 dog owners told us about 430,406 furry friends. And 33,002 dog lovers shared their views on dog welfare issues.

Here’s how your support has already made a difference:

  • In 2021, our first survey highlighted a worryingly high proportion of dog owners facing behaviour issues with their dog. So, we created a free, nationwide Behaviour Support Line to prevent more people having to relinquish their dog due to their behaviour. Since it launched, we’ve given advice and support to more than 8,000 people.
  • In 2023, nearly 20% of respondents said they may consider changing to cheaper pet food in the coming year. Nearly 30% said they were thinking about cutting back on training classes due to costs. Since then, we’ve shared 1 million dog meals through our foodbank partners and offered discounted training classes for over 500 dogs.

It’s only thanks to your support that we are able to continue our research and take action to make the world a better place for dogs and those that love them.
