More volunteers required for "all paws on deck" at Dogs Trust West Calder
Dogs Trust West Calder is hosting a volunteer recruitment event at its rehoming centre in Bentyhead, to try and encourage more local people to donate any spare time they may have, to helping local homeless hounds.
The event on 28th February will run from 2pm -3pm, and will give people an idea of the kind of volunteering opportunities available at the centre for local dog lovers to get involved with, ranging from cleaning kennels to dog walking and gardening.
Susan Tonner, Rehoming Centre Manager says:
“Our volunteers are incredibly important in the smooth running of our rehoming centre, and they help us in more ways than anyone could imagine. It is a common misconception that we only need dog walkers, but in reality, our volunteers help in every single way, whether it’s helping our maintenance team keep our outside areas tidy, helping to exercise the dogs, or making the centre look lovely and presentable for our dogs and potential rehomers.”
Susan and the team would really like to meet anyone who would be able to commit to half a day each week, and would be happy to answer any questions you have regarding volunteering opportunities at Dogs Trust West Calder.
If you are unable to attend the event but would like to register your interest in volunteering, or to request an application form, please contact the volunteer coordinator on 01506 873459.
